House Construction in our Lao Garden (April 2002)
	House Construction and Renovations We are building a new house in the garden. It replaces the existing house with the kitchen. The new two-floor house will have living rooms, bedrooms, a new kitchen for the family, and a new kitchen for the restaurant.
		The planned front of the new house. On the top right there is the latest idea: a rooftop lookout. That will give a great view into the garden with the ponds!
		That was the small old building built by Tukta and the family. It was not old at all but we want to use the same location.
		The construction of the new house is progressing well. The first floor is almost complete - next they are placing the concrete beams for the second floor.
		The second floor has its walls. The floor and the roof are next. The beetle belongs to the architect.
		The naked brick walls look quite nice. They will be covered with plaster later.
		The view from the back side. Here we will have kitchens and toilets (one each for private use and for the restaurant).
		Inside the house - there is no ceiling or first floor yet.

	Besides the house construction, some renovations to other buildings, and other constructions have been completed.
		The restaurant has a new, large hut on the big pond at the back of the garden. Due to the house construction, two existing huts for the restaurant had to be removed.
		The openair living room and garage got a new roof. Tthe roof has a much higher slope to it so water will drain off faster, as well as being cooler to sit under
