English course at Lorraine Martin College in Brisbane and travelled to Sydney, Blue Mountains (NSW), Melbourne, Dangenongs Ranges, Penguin Parade, Great Ocean Road, The Grampians, Ballarat and Sovereign Hill, Murray River (VIC), Darwin, Kakadu National Park (NT), Airlie Beach, Whitsunday Islands, Great Barrier Reef (QLD), Byron Bay (NSW), Kuranda and the Tableland, Cairns (with Ocean Spirit to Upolu Cay), ...

29 April 1996 to 17 August 1996

Travelling to Perth (Western Australia), Pinnacles, Fremantle, Adelaide (SA), Kangooroo Island, with The Ghan (train, 20.5 hours) from Adelaide to Alice Springs (NT) in 20 hrs; fortnight Outback & NT safari to Ayers Rock (Uluru National Park), The Olgas, Kings Canyon, Devil's Marbles, Tennant Creek, Katherine Gorge, Kakadu National Park, Arnhem Land, Litchfield National Park and The Top End with Darwin; Brisbane; Noosa, Rainbow Beach, Fraser Island; Bundaberg, Whale Watching; Mackay, Eugnella National Park (Platypus) and with the train (Sunlander) back to Brisbane

1 April 1997 to 28 February 1999

Living in Brisbane for almost 2 years.
English for Academic Purposes (EAP) course at QUT Carseldine Campus;
18 months Masters degree study in Information Technology at QUT Gardens Point Campus - not really holidays but still a lot of fun and certainly a great time!!
The Cold Coast (Surfers Paradise) is only 2 hours South, the Sunshine Coast only 2 hours North of Brisbane.
December 1998 / January 1999:
Travelling inland by car from Brisbane via Tamworth to the Hunter Valley, one of Australia's most famous wine regions. Excellent wine tasting! Continuing along the coast to Sydney, the home of the Olympic Games 2000. Blue Mountains, Canberra, the Snowy Mountains, Melbourne, the Grampians and the Great Ocean Road were the next stations. Along the coast, I drove back from Melbourne via Sydney to Brisbane.

27 April to 31 May 2001

5 weeks trip to Brisbane, Sydney, Melbourne, and more.
Arriving in Sydney and sightseeing for a couple of days. Taking an overnight train to Melbourne. Visiting the Crown Casino with Lao friends.
Winery Tour to the Yarra Valley with friends of a Rotary Club from Brisbane.
Renting a car and driving to Ballarat, Grampians, visitiung wineries, back to Geelong, along the Great Ocean Road towards Adelaide, visiting the Kangoroo Island, watching seal on the beach, staying at Victor Harbor, watching penguins, visiting more wineries around Adelaide, driving along the Murray River (border between VIC and NSW) to the east, visiting Canberra, bypassing Sydney, staying in the Blue Mountains, visiting again wineries in the Hunter Valley, driving north to the Cold Coast/Surfers Paradise, finally arriving in Brisbane to visit some Swiss and Australian friends.
We had our first wedding anniversary in the Swiss restaurant "Des Alpes" in Mitchelton with Swiss and Aussie friends.
